5am Thoughts on Motherhood
Motherhood is quite a journey.
From being confused whether it started from pregnancy to not knowing when it’ll end (since it's forever).
All these mixed emotions that stir within but not fully grasping it because it’s either hard to accept or you can’t fully deal with it just yet because some tiny human relies on your sanity to care for them.
But you know, all the insanity can come to a hault at an instance - just like by watching the little one sleep. All the tension, the stress, the negative thoughts seem to just lift away.
And I catch myself in the present. This beautiful moment which won’t last forever. And I know I’ll regret not having basked in this moment if I don’t now.
Raising a human is never easy. There’s no proper manual or a fixed set of rules. True enough, it takes a whole lot of compassion. A whole lot of love.
When being vulnerable no longer scares you.
To quote Elizabeth Stone:
“Making the decision to have a child - it's momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking outside your body.”
And too true enough that the days may seem long but the years are short. So every moment spent is a moment to be treasured ❤️
5AM thoughts because my daughter is turning 2 soon. Huhu
