frequently asked questions
What Is/ Who is / Why Milkfist?
Born in the late 90’s era - needing an online name to somehow “hide my identity” (You know for Yahoo Messenger, MySpace, multiply.com), which ended up being known anyway, First two thoughts that came to mind was my fist in “chokozuki” (meaning straight punch in Japanese and what I learned in Karate) and milk. So I thought, why not fuse both together and create a nourishing punch - and so Milkfist was born.
do you photograph professionally?
No. I don’t know if it will stay that way neither but I’m not a very disciplined “photographer”. I take photos of what I like, sometimes of what I don’t too, depending on my mood. I don’t think I could sustain a career with that type of trait for this - but I’m happy doing photography sessions every now and then with family and close friends.
No labels?
I’ll try not to put too much description on myself - or on anyone, for that matter. It’s not that I don’t want people to know who I am but I’d like to have my readers a more unique and authentic experience - with you guys interpreting my words on your own without a fixed image of the writer (whom of which is me) in your heads. People’s opinion tend to change when they know the person, not to say I want you to judge me in a negative light, but I’ll leave you to think as you please.
why the website?
I just really needed a different outlet for my thoughts. I’ve somehow grown to dislike Facebook and most social media platforms (doesn’t mean I don’t use it) when it comes to posting what I think and my perspective on things - and I thought a website that isn’t as out there as Facebook, since so many of my friends and families and friends of friends are on there, would be able to garner more curated readers. I mean, you’d only end up on this website if you searched for it or something specific related.
what kind of music do you listen to?
My playlist has a majority of alternative/punk rock but I do like country and the occasional pop songs (would really depend if it’s not too distasteful for me). I do have classical music records too for times when I kind of want to shut off and enjoy old mellow songs but you’ll definitely and most likely catch me listening to bands like paramore, taking back sunday, my chemical romance, and the like. Oh - I love listening to awesome covers on YouTube too. :)
why am i here?
If you’re asking that to yourself - I don’t know, really. I’d like to believe that there’s something on here I could offer to you that might serve some purpose :)
