K-Pop and Yarn

You’re my soda pop, my little soda pop” - So… you sang that, didn’t you? Ha! Last Song Syndrome with K-Pop Demon Hunters - soda pop song. It’s really catchy.

The internet’s influence is huge. The entertainment industry gathers information on what to create and push out next based off on “data collected from the internet”. K-pop Demo hunters (the movie) is a great example. All around the world, folks are watching Korean Dramas and fawning over K-Pop groups. Put them together and what have you got? Bippity Boppity - K-Pop Demon Hunters! I just wanted to point that out because there’s at least some good with these large corps “stealing our information" - in the guise of “cookies” (lol - if you know, you know).

I’ve been feeling somewhat groggy, physically, yet refreshed in the mind. I’m possibly about to enter my “red days”, thus me physically feeling this way. I’ve been very intentional lately of not trying to look at my phone. If I wanted to “look” at anything, I go on my laptop. There’s really a difference when I’m on a phone and scrolling around socials versus on my laptop. I tend not to go down a rabbit hole of doom scrolling. When the experience isn’t as seamless (because on a phone, it’s just my thumb moving versus a laptop when I have to keep switching tabs and typing), I’m not as easily sucked in to staying around long - which has been fantastic! I can feel my brain feeling less overwhelmed.

Waking up has been wonderful. I don’t feel the need to instantly stare at my phone while still in bed. I actually get up, walk and go out of the room now. I feel… somehow excited for the day - because now I feel like wanting to do something. NOW I can actually pursue my hobbies!

We went to Cebu recently and went to a Yarn Store to get more yarn. I say “we” because even my husband bought his own stock!

Brought 3 Bags worth of Yarn home. Heeeeee

My 8 year old daughter learned how to crochet. She can at least do a row of chains and has even made a bracelet. We had visited a yarn cafe once and they had yarn that the customers could use while you were there - and I taught my daughter how to use chunky yarn to make a blanket.

I bought chunky yarn this time so that she could hand make a blanket herself for keeps.

While I was at the Yarn store, I saw a type of yarn that I’ve never made use of before. It seemed thin and light and I felt it would make for a great piece of clothing - like a shirt. I’ve attempted making shirts in the past but after making them half way through, I felt it would be too heavy for a shirt - so I never got to finish.

Could this be THE yarn?

But I’m hoping this would be great for it and actually make me finish one!

My husband’s haul consisted of all Harry Potter Colors. He specifically wanted just that. He was soooo happy he got his own. Look at this happy walk.

We already got a few Harry Potter colors the last time we went, so he got the ones he didn’t have.

What’s he going to make? I’m not sure. Haha

Slytherin and Raven Claw colors - as per him. Though I’m Dubious of his Raven Claw colors.

The Yarn store was more like a warehouse - and they had A LOTTTTT to choose from. The photos you see isn’t everything. There’s another Room with more yarn!

I’ve got a lotttt of Work In Progress crochet projects. Will I be able to finish something? STAY TUNED! lol

But seriously, I’m hoping to be able to finish one of them soon. Right before writing this blog, I was working on a pair of shorts. It’s been a work in progress for more than a month now. It was something I wanted to make before we had our Boracay trip back in June. I finished ONE SIDE and got lazy with the other half 😅. Though with a change in habits, I’m hopeful I can be more focused to finish it.

Today’s weather seems pretty nice (July 9, past 1 in the afternoon where I am right now as of this writing) so I might bring the kids out and likely get some groceries done. Need to get more of Crumpy since the kids have fully consumed it.

Need to get more of Crumpy since the kids have fully consumed it. We’ve swapped Nutella for this - because based on its ingredients list, this has less sugar. And Honestly? It tastes better to me.

I like anything Belgian - Chocolates, Fries, spreads - so I was happy about this.

Dear reader, do you have any chocolate spread suggestions? Because I would love to try! Especially since me and my family are big on “bread and spread”.

Thanks for making it down here ☺️. Next blog will have prettier photos! (Not just yarn lol).
